An apartment cleaning should be performed as much as you can. Wash down as many of the surfaces as you can, including the top shelves of cabinets, ceiling fan blades, and countertops. Sweep out your furnace vents and cold-air returns. Vacuum your furniture and carpets every few days to ensure that allergens are kept to a minimum. One of the most common places for allergens to collect is your bed sheets. Every time you go to bed, any allergens that are attached to you go to bed with you. Your hair can be your worst enemy when it comes to harboring allergens. Washing your hair every other day or so will minimize the amount of allergens you carry around with you. If you have longer hair, you may want to brush it out and put it up in a clip or a pony tail holder to keep it away from your face. The less it’s allowed to blow around, the fewer allergens you are likely to pick up.
